Theatre fans can learn how Elphaba's signature green look comes together on Oct. 25, when international theatre makeup artist Myrene Santos leads a Wicked-inspired makeup workshop at Opera Haus in Makati.
Stagedoor by GMG Productions is presenting the Makeup Workshop with Myrene Santos in partnership with the artist. It is open to theatre fans, aspiring creatives, and makeup enthusiasts.
What the Wicked makeup workshop covers
The session centers on the Green Witch, one of the stage's most recognizable transformations. Participants will see how theatrical makeup builds a character, from shaping defining features to developing a look made for the stage.
The workshop also gives attendees a view of the work behind the curtain. They will pick up practical character-makeup techniques, find out how looks are adapted for live performance, and hear what goes into preparing performers for a production.
Who is Myrene Santos?
Santos is a professional wig maker, wig dresser, and hair and makeup artist who specializes in theatrical styling and character transformation. Her credits span major international productions, including "Hamilton," "The Lion King," "Wicked," "The Phantom of the Opera," "Les Misérables," and "The Sound of Music."
Hands-on ticket: ₱2,500 (Early Bird: ₱2,000). Participants recreate the Green Witch look on themselves with step-by-step guidance from Santos. They should bring their own makeup products, brushes, tools, preferred makeup remover, and drinking water, plus a light snack if desired. A recommended materials list comes with the registration form.
Observer ticket: ₱500. Observers watch the demonstration, follow the techniques, and join the Q&A. This pass does not include hands-on participation.
Optional Green Witch makeup kit: ₱850. Sold separately and available only to workshop attendees, the kit includes water-based green face paint, makeup fixing spray, a basic eyeshadow palette, a makeup sponge, and a small brush set.
