On September 30, HP Philippines gathered mothers and aspiring entrepreneurs for a hands-on workshop on how print supports small businesses. The HP INKredible Learning Day event, themed "From Print to Profit: Printing Your Way to Business Growth," showed mompreneurs how print bridges online and offline operations.

Why print still matters to Filipino mompreneurs

Women accounted for 60% of business registrants nationwide, according to the Department of Trade and Industry's 2025 data. Research by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies also found that women entrepreneurs carry heavier caregiving responsibilities than their male counterparts. Those demands call for practical tools that simplify everyday business tasks.

An order may start online, but printed extras help a small business make its mark: a personalized thank-you card, clear product labels, or organized invoices and records.

"Home-based entrepreneurs put considerable resourcefulness into building their businesses, often while managing responsibilities at home. At HP, we want to support that ambition with technology they can confidently use in their everyday work. Through our INKredible Learning Day series, we're helping mompreneurs explore practical ways to bring their ideas to life and take the next step in their business journey," said Ida Evina Ong-Co, managing director of HP Philippines.

Participants discussed which documents should stay on paper, how printed materials strengthen branding, and how to balance motherhood with running a business. For home-based sellers with leaner teams, technology often decides whether they run efficiently and competitively.

HP Print AI and HP Scan AI Enhanced cut down on paperwork

HP Print AI removes ads and unnecessary spaces from web content before printing. HP Scan AI Enhanced recognizes scanned document types and extracts key information, cutting manual retyping into business records. Both help mompreneurs save money by reducing paper and ink waste.

At the HP Print Bar, participants chose and printed HP Printables templates, then personalized them with labels, tabs, stickers, and dividers on the HP Smart Tank 580. The printer prints, scans, and copies, connects wirelessly, and uses a high-yield ink system rated for up to 6,000 black-and-white or 6,000 color pages, with a mess-free refill.

"For a small business owner, being able to print materials as needed offers the convenience and flexibility to adapt, whether they're updating a price list, personalizing an order, or organizing business records. The HP Smart Tank 580 is designed to support these everyday needs, delivering quality prints at a low cost per page so business owners can create professional-looking materials while keeping printing costs manageable," said Trish Alonzo, category manager at HP Philippines.
