The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will extend emergency loans to members and pensioners affected by Tropical Storm Maymay and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat), once their areas are placed under a state of calamity.

Members and pensioners with an existing emergency loan may borrow up to ₱40,000 — enough to cover the outstanding balance, with the remainder released to them. Those with no existing loan may borrow up to ₱20,000.

To qualify, active members must live or work in a declared calamity area, be in active service and not on leave without pay, have no pending administrative or criminal case, have paid premiums within the past six months, and retain a net take-home pay of at least ₱5,000 after deductions, per the General Appropriations Act.

Old-age and disability pensioners in calamity-hit areas can also apply, as long as their pension after the loan deduction stays at or above 25% of their basic monthly pension.

The loan carries a 6% annual interest rate, payable over three years.
