The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has set aside ₱1.69 billion in emergency loans for 68,506 active members and pensioners in Albay, Camarines Norte, and Naga, all of which are under a state of calamity.

Albay and Naga declared the state of calamity after a rise in dengue cases and related deaths. Camarines Norte did so because of the effects of El Niño.

Qualified members and pensioners can apply through the GSIS Touch mobile app.

Deadlines for Albay, Camarines Norte, Naga, and other areas

  • Albay: Oct. 24

  • Camarines Norte: Oct. 27

  • Naga: Oct. 28

  • Cavite: Nov. 12

  • Rodriguez, Rizal: Nov. 16

GSIS continues to offer emergency loans in other calamity-hit areas, including Cavite and Rodriguez.

Loan limits, interest, and payment terms

Members with an existing emergency loan balance can borrow up to ₱40,000. The outstanding balance on the earlier loan is deducted, and the maximum net amount received is ₱20,000. Members without an existing emergency loan can apply for up to ₱20,000.

The loan carries a 6% interest rate and is payable over three years. Monthly amortization is ₱655.56 for a ₱20,000 loan and ₱1,311.11 for a ₱40,000 loan.

The loan also includes redemption insurance. If the borrower dies, the outstanding balance is considered fully paid, provided payments are up to date.
