Solaire Resort Quezon City is opening its kitchens to guests who want more than a meal. The luxury integrated resort's new Culinary Chronicles program puts visitors in the kitchen with the same chefs who run its restaurants, learning pasta, sushi and cocktail-making from the people who do it every day.
Sessions are led by the Chefs de Cuisine of Trattoria e Dolci, Yakumi and Finestra, with each class capped at five guests. ₱2,500++ per person covers the ingredients, a chef's toque and a personalized apron to take home, and classes run daily
Learn the secrets of sushi-making straight from the experts of Yakumi
At Trattoria e Dolci, Chef de Cuisine Joboy Bitoon teaches guests to build pizza from scratch, while at Finestra, Chef de Cuisine Joel Manchia walks them through the pasta techniques he uses in the restaurant's own kitchen. Both classes send guests home with the dish they made and the technique behind it.
At Yakumi, Chef de Cuisine Akira Takahashi covers the fundamentals of sushi-making — nigiri, California maki and temaki — using ingredients sourced fresh for each session.
For something looser, Skybar Academy runs cocktail-making classes with the resort's mixologists, set against the city skyline.
